Couturier Hunter Mask

The very first step before any 3d printing or sewing was getting models from the game for the armor needed for the cosplay thankfully the Couturier Set only really has one, the Mask.

Destiny STL Generator

For this the only reliable way to rip in game models is to use Destiny STL generator linked below. It's capable of ripping models from Destiny 1 and 2, however, files from Destiny 2 usually have issues and need fixing. Unfortunately acquiring the files is going to be the easiest part of this project.

Blender issues

After acquiring the file the next step was to take it into blender to prepare it for 3d printing. During this process the things I needed to fix were mainly two things.

1: Increase the thickness because the raw file is only one vertex thick and would not have any walls when trying to print. I solved this by using the solidify modifier.

Blender 2

2: I needed to separate and create a vacu-form compatible visor from the model. This was much simpler than adding thickness to the main helmet because during the entire process the main helm was giving non-manifold errors witch make it impossible to print.

Tinkercad Front

After the grueling process to fix the model I took it into Tinkercad to scale and slice it into different pieces. I did this because the printer I have at my disposal is the Creality Ender 3 which has a modest print bed size.

Tinkercad Back

While this did take some time it was not that bad in comparison to Blender, but now that these parts are over its finally time to open Cura and hit the 3d printer!
